License your dog!
If you live in the Town of Orangeville or the Town of Mono, you are required by municipal by-laws to have a current license tag affixed to your dog's collar. Dog tags expire December 31 each year. Visit the Ontario SPCA Orangeville & District Branch or any of the businesses listed below to purchase a current tag for your dog and ensure we have your information on file in the event your dog becomes lost.

What’s in it for You?
Shelters across Ontario receive thousands of stray animals each year, and many do not have identification. Identification with your current contact information, including your dog’s municipal dog tag, is the best way to ensure that your lost pet can be reunited with your family!

If your dog becomes lost and makes its way out of your area either by wandering or being picked up by a concerned passerby, a current municipal dog tag will help ensure your dog gets back to our branch to be reunited with your family.

Many of the dogs re-homed by our Adoption Centre have come into the shelter with no identification or means of reuniting them with their families.

What’s in it for the Animal Shelter and Adoption Centre?

Your purchase of a current dog tag helps your dog. It also helps all of the Animals at the Animal Shelter and Adoption Centre. All revenue from the sale of dog tags comes directly into the branch to help us provide care needed for the animals while they are housed at the shelter. This revenue is very important to us; it helps us maintain the quality care and veterinary procedures necessary for the health and well-being of the animals in our care.
