Below is a list of items that we require on an ongoing basis. By donating any of the items below you are helping us stretch every donated penny to the benefit of the animals. Thank you for your support!

THE FOLLOWING FEW ITEMS ARE REALLY NEEDED AT THIS TIME

• Kitty Litter – regular clay (we only want to use clay litter – we don’t want clumping type)
• Shavings for small animals - aspen or pine, NOT cedar
• Yesterdays News – litter for small animals

CATS
We still have kittens binging brought into the shelter, we need special food for them to thrive. Please bring us kitten food, both canned and dry.

• Pate type wet cat food
• Cat litter – regular clay litter - no clumping litter can be used
• Cat toys – for the cats in the kennels and for the volunteers to play with the cats such as sticks with feathers or flick strings.
• Cat treats

DOGS

• Kongs – (Black, Red or Blue)
• Rawhide chews for dogs
• Large rope toys for the dogs
• "Halti" head halters in large and medium, each of our dogs needs their own Halti to be taken on walks and for training
• 6-foot leashes (nylon or leather)

FOOD FOR DOGS AND CATS
We frequently have animals that require special veterinary diets for specific health conditions. If you would like to contribute food for one of these animals please call the shelter to make the arrangements. You can also pick up Gastro Food for dogs and cats, Hypos for dogs and cats and Urinary S/O for cats from any local veterinary clinics.

Gift certificates are great to give us so we can purchase special items and food for the animals. Global Pet Foods, Pet Valu and all grocery store and WalMart gift cards are appreciated.

SMALL ANIMALS

• Toys for the small animals, rats, guinea pigs, hamsters and rabbits
• Rabbit and guinea pig food in pellets and also fresh fruit and veggies, we are caring for many small animals and need a constant supply of food for them.
• Animal bedding shavings for small animals, rats, guinea pigs and rabbits - aspen or pine, NOT cedar
• Wood chew toys
• Yesterday’s News – litter for rats and mice

GENERAL SHELTER SUPPLIES

• Bleach – we need this for the laundry and for cleaning and we use a lot of bleach
• Laundry detergent - we do 4 to 5 industrial loads per day
• Large and medium pet crates, either plastic or metal
• Garden Watering cans
• Mop buckets: Vileda 12 litre round red pail with mop wringer
• Gas gift certificates – the cruelty investigations covers a large territory and the truck takes animals to veterinary clinics every day.
• Toilet paper
• Large 30 x38 extra strength garbage bags
• Toilet paper
• GIFT CERTIFICATES from Home Hardware, WalMart, Zellers, Canadian Tire and all grocery stores
• PRIZES to be used for special events - Spring Garden Lunch and Silent Auction, Ontario SPCA Friends for Life Walk-a-thon and Fore the Animals Golf Tournament.
